YOU PACK, WE MOVE, YOU SAVE! Please Copy & Save when you reserve a move.
You (Client) will need to pack up your clothing, books, dishes, pictures, glass, fragile items, lamp shades and other items into boxes, bags and luggage. Please empty out the drawers in dressers, nightstands, desks, etc but leave the drawers in. Put flat panel TVs in their original box. Protect the corners of sheets glass with cardboard and tape. If moving items to a new location please check elevator and door sizes to confirm items such as sofas or beds will go without issue. Reserve loading docks and elevators as needed and required. Locate areas for our moving trucks to park. Get emergency no parking signs as needed, if needed. Think of and do other things that will help you be prepared.
We (Haul Zing) will send out moving professionals with a range of moving equipment in a moving truck as required. We will load up, transport and unload our clients items as needed. We take apart and reassemble items such as beds and tables using our tools. We use 5 inch wide movers wrap to keep doors and drawers closed and to keep loose parts together. We will place pads around flat panel TVs and glass table tops if needed. We always place movers pads around and between furniture items when they are in the cargo area of the truck. We also use heavy duty mattress bags during all moves to prevent dirt and stains from getting on the mattress and boxsprings. We will do other things to help make the move or delivery be efficient and damage free.
DAMAGE PREVENTION
Trained Crews: Our crew members are trained in our training center working with a Haul Zing supervisor. All of our crew leaders have been promoted to that position based on their moving skill, consistent care of clients items and professional conduct. During tough situations, one of our expert movers can be consulted and will come out to the job if needed. We have a mover training center in Rockville MD to provide our customers with some of the best movers around.
Tools & Techniques: We use movers wrap (plastic wrap) to keep drawers and doors closed so they do not swing out or open, causing damages to themselves or other items. We have tools and will take apart and reassemble beds, tables and other items as needed during the move. We cover your mattress with a plastic bag for the duration of your move to help keep it clean. We put pads onto furniture once it is in the truck to prevent rub marks and damage during the drive between sites. When requested we will put pads onto delicate furniture before we move them.
INSURANCES CARRIED
DAMAGES POLICIES
ALL ITEMS: Light scratches, nicks, scuffs, dirt and other light damages are not covered in any way. Damage such as gouges, cracks and abnormal finishes on furniture are first looked at and discussed with all parties (customer, moving crew and a Haul Zing manager) before any decisions are made. If damages occur due to the size of the item compared to the size of a hall, doorway, stairs, elevators or similar we cannot be held responsible for damages. We will attempt to get the item in if you desire but damages may occur. If you want the crew to stop, tell them. If damages occur because the item needed 3-4 movers and you tried to save money by hiring a Haul Zing crew of 2 movers we are not responsible. We do have backups running around to assist our crews but they will not always be available.
Boxed Items: Items packed in boxes and taped shut and items that are placed in boxes without a top are not covered in any way. Pack boxes with packing peanuts, bubble wrap or newspaper to protect the items properly. Check YouTube for videos on packing boxes and fragile items.
FRAGILE ITEMS
Pictures & Paintings: Items such as paintings and pictures that are not properly prepared by you are not covered in any way. Moving blankets are heavy and can cause damage to thin & fragile items such as pictures and are not the best way to cover pictures and paintings. Proper packing before we arrive is the route to take. Check YouTube for videos on packing pictures and art work.
Lamp shades: Lamp shades are not covered in any way. They are very fragile and our crews will be very careful but they must be placed into a box with padding for the best protection. Check YouTube for videos on packing lamp shades and fragile items.
Sheet Glass & Mirrors: Glass is only covered if we drop and break a fully protected piece of glass. Fully protected is in a case with corner protection and full pads that has been prepared before we arrive. We will put pads around glass to prevent scratches, chips and breakage but this does not make the glass fully protected. Our crews receive glass specific training but it still needs to be protected before we arrive. Check YouTube for videos on how to prepare and protect glass for moving.
TV’s: TV’s are covered if they are damaged only if they are in their original box with the original Styrofoam corner blocks. We use a process of moving pads and movers wrap to create a bundle that has proved to be very reliable in preventing damages or scratches to TV’s and monitors. We also have TV specific training for our crews from how to wrap, how to carry and when and where to place and remove the TV from our truck.
FURNITURE
Particle board: Particle board is very weak in nature, unless the item was damaged by us in a manner from poor moving we will not cover damages. If we move the item around on the floor or carpet and a chunk of the particle board comes off it is not covered. If we pick up the item and due to poor assembly it falls apart, or creates damage to itself, it is not covered. If a crewman drags an item on the wrong side and scratches it up we will discuss the repair or replacement.
Real Wood: Real wood is one of the more durable items in your home and therefore we offer a higher level of repair and replacement if real wood furniture is damaged. If the item was not well built or was already damaged in some way, we may not cover a new claim of damages.
LOST ITEMS POLICY
By not taking inventory of items, we are able to make moves take less time and cost less. Therefore, it is the responsibility of our clients to look after the items during their move to ensure items are not forgotten, misplaced or lost. Our clients will need to find the best routes for us move items at each location. This will help to prevent items being left in the wrong area or along a wrong path. Throughout, or at least at the end of each phase of the move, clients are advised to walk the path our movers took as well as other possible paths to ensure no items are left behind. At the end of each move, clients should look in the cargo and cabin areas of the vehicle Haul Zing used during the move to ensure no items are left behind. By booking a move you are in agreement that Haul Zing will not be held responsible for forgotten, misplaced or lost items.
DAMAGES TO WALLS & FLOORS POLICY
Walls: On some occasions walls are nicked in the process of moving. Light scuffs, scratches and dings are not covered but if we cause medium to heavy damage (very noticable gouge or hole) to a wall it is approached in 2 ways. If the damage caused by the size of the items compared to the size of the hall, door, wall, stairs, etc. than we are not responsible. Our crews carry a release form to use in these tough situations. If the damage was caused from an item falling or being dropped or just some freak accident and created a very noticable gouge or hole than we will work with you to determine the best course of action. We do not guarantee we will assist with the repair in any case.
Floors: We do our best to not drag or move furniture on flooring to prevent damages to the flooring or items. Sometimes that is very difficult especially when moving the last inch next to a wall or moving items in a tight area. If we drop an item and it damages the flooring we will work with you to see what needs to be done but do not guarantee we will assist in any way with the repair. If the 400lb armoire has to be pushed up against the wall and makes a scratch on the floor we will not cover the damage. Most hardware stores sell stain pens to touch up these types of scratches.
