Winter Weather Policy

Washington DC is prone to accumulated snow and ice during the winter which can make for treacherous moving conditions. On some occasions, moves may have to be moved to another time on your move date or rescheduled to another day. We skip jobs as necessary but do not push the schedule. Example: If it is snowing crazy and we cannot make it to the AM job, we may have to skip that job. If the road crews do a good job and the sun comes out there may be a chance we can do the PM job. The AM job would need to be done later that day if possible or rescheduled to another day. If the next day is booked, it may be a day or two before we can do the originally skipped job. We have found this is the best and most fair way to handle weather delays.

Weather Delays & Cancellations:

  • Use the school closings for your areas of moving as the default if you have not heard from us.
  • We will check the areas if possible during and after snow storms to confirm the cancellation or decide if the job can be done
  • Sometimes mounds of snow and patches of ice may prevent a move from occuring due to safety concerns
  • If your job is cancelled we will do our best to fit it into the next available day and time. On some occasions the next available time might be a few days.
  • If no times are available that fit your day/time needs, then you will need to prepare to locate another mover or another way to get moved
  • If your job is cancelled due to the weather and cannot be rescheduled and you have paid a deposit you will receive a refund
